I started to draw animals and landscapes at a very young age. Wild and domestic animals are always around me, and I love to depict them in my paintings. When I was a child, my parents spent a lot of time on islands and riverbanks in a tent or a hut of branches and dry grass. Our regular activities were boating, fishing, harvesting wild berries, and hiking in the woods. I felt safe and comfortable in that environment. My first solo hiking at a distance of 2,5 miles happened at age 5 when I left our country house and strolled alone through the fields and ravines covered with forest. My parents were frightened while looking for me for hours, but I wasn`t scared at all. During school breaks, I`ve lived in a country house in the company of goats, chickens, dogs, and cats.  I never felt lonely and never missed other children.  I spent time playing with animals and observing the surroundings from my tree house.

The connection between people and nature is a subject of my interest.  Mother Nature accepts us the way we are. For animals and trees, it doesn`t matter how you look, but it DOES matter how you treat them, and what person you are. I am concerned about how humans treat animals and nature. Many people think they are above nature, and all animals and everything on Earth belong to humans. They don`t remember that humans are part of nature, the same as animals, plants, and other creations, we are parts of one ecosystem, and we share our only home, planet Earth.  We depend on each other, and if everyone could keep that in mind in everyday decisions, our world would be very different.

The tranquility, serenity, and beauty of nature are the source of my inspiration. I like "en plein air" when I feel more connected to nature. Being in the wilderness helps me to find solace during a difficult time and brings me new ideas and feelings to share through my artwork.

It`s a scientifically proven fact that being outdoors or just watching pictures of nature reduces stress and brings a sense of happiness. Through my paintings, I want to get a piece of nature into people`s homes.
